AFFILIATE PROGRAM HOUSEKEEPING HACKS

When was the last time you performed general housekeeping on your affiliate program? If it’s been a while, it’s about time that changed. So, to get 2023 off to a good start, we’re sharing three simple yet effective hacks to help get your ducks in a row.

Remove inactive publishers

Did you know that for most affiliate programs, just 10% of publishers drive 90% of sales? When you opt for a quantity over quality approach, losing control of your partners can be easy. So, take some time to remove inactive publishers from your program, particularly those who haven’t driven clicks for a long time.

Remember that your affiliate partners may be a customer’s first impression of your brand. Therefore, it’s always best to partner with publishers who align with your values and have built trust with their audience. While it can take longer to grow your program, it’s always the best approach.

Update your creatives

If you’ve got creatives from 2020 still live on your affiliate platform, chances are they no longer align with your branding. Ideally, you should be updating your creatives every quarter as a minimum.

So, spend some time archiving those 2020 Black Friday creatives and upload fresh creatives for the new year. Once you’ve done so, email publishers and let them know so they can update everything on their end.

Update offers

There’s nothing like a customer encountering an invalid offer to ruin their shopping experience, especially if they’re coming from you. So spend some time updating your offers and archiving everything that’s expired.

Again, once you’ve updated your offers, communicate this with your partners to ensure they’re only promoting current and valid offers.
